The Design tab

On the Design Tab page, you create or modify the tab settings and widgets of Organization and Client Portal dashboard tabs. To open the page, use the path(s) in the Security and navigation section above. This page opens automatically when you create and save a new tab.

On this page, you do the following:

Select an organization to provide sample data, so you can preview your design

Use the Organization selector to pick an organization you know has a lot of task, ticket or billing information. This organization is not saved as part of the design, it is simply selected to populate the widgets you will be adding with some real data, to allow you to finish the design. Your selection is remembered the next time you access the tab.

Add and manage tab widgets

Adding and managing widgets on Organization and Client Portal dashboard tabs is identical to adding and managing them on shared dashboard tabs. The only difference is that you cannot offer widgets on organization dashboard tabs to other people, so that menu item will not appear.

Refer to Managing dashboard widgets.

Edit tab settings

Organization and Client Portal dashboard tab settings automatically apply a tab-level organization filter, and allow you to view data for the organization and any sub-organizations or locations. You can set or modify the following:

Field Description
Tab Name The tab name must be unique in comparison to the other organization dashboard tab names, but can be the same as an application-level shared dashboard tab name.
Active Up to five organization dashboard tabs can be active at one time.
Position widgets based on available space Select this check box to optimize the use of space on the tab.

Access the tab menu

The tab menu on Organization or Client Portal dashboard tabs has two options:

Option Description
Tab Settings The Tab Settings dialog box lets you edit the Tab Name, the Active setting, and the Position widgets based on available space setting.
To modify widgets, use the widget menu (the three dots in the upper right corner) and select Settings.
Add Widget As an alternative to clicking into the Add Widget outline on the tab, you can select the Add Widget dialog from the tab menu. Refer to Adding a widget.
