Managing contract compliance

A recurring service contract is automatically Out of Compliance if the number of devices associated with a service bundle or service is greater than the unit count of that service or bundle in the contract. It can also be set to Out of Compliance manually.

When a contract is out of compliance, a notice appears in the Contract Details box, and a warning triangle in the Contract Search results table. You are given the option of updating the number of units in the service or bundle to match, or you can continue without updating (not recommended).

  • If you click OK, the number of units will be incremented, and a pro-rated billing item will be added and documented with a contract note. The default Effective Date will be the Installed On date of the device.
  • If you click Cancel, the number of units will not be incremented, but the contract will be set Out of Compliance.

In order to return the contract to compliance, you must add additional units or remove devices from the service bundle or service.

IMPORTANT  Note that when a contract is linked to a device and there are not enough available units of the selected service/service bundle to cover this device, and you select to do nothing, the device will be linked to the service, where then the number exceeds the number of service units. However, the contract will not be set out of compliance.
